What the launch checklist covers
24 checks in four groups, each weighted by how much it affects a launch. Every failed check comes with a plain-English fix, so you know what to change and why.
Search basics
What Google sees when it reads your page.
- Page title (30 to 60 characters)
- Meta description (70 to 160 characters)
- One clear H1 heading
- Open to search engines (no noindex)
- Canonical URL
- Language declared
- Mobile viewport
- Readable content in the HTML, not an empty JavaScript shell
- Image alt text
Link previews
How your link looks when someone shares it.
- Social title (og:title) and description (og:description)
- Social image (og:image)
- X / Twitter card
- Favicon
Launch and conversion
Whether a visitor can trust you and take the next step.
- Secure HTTPS
- A clear call to action
- A pricing link
- Privacy and terms links
- Server response time
AI and discoverability
Whether crawlers and AI assistants can find and understand you.
- robots.txt that doesn't block your whole site
- GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended allowed
- XML sitemap
- llms.txt for AI assistants
- Structured data (JSON-LD)
How the score works
Each check is a pass, an improvement or a fix. Things that can stop a launch cold, like a noindex tag, no HTTPS or a missing call to action, count three times as much as polish like a canonical link. Passes earn full marks, improvements earn half, and fixes earn nothing. The total becomes your score out of 100, and each group gets its own score so you can see where you're weakest.
The checker reads your homepage the way a search engine or an AI assistant would: the HTML your server sends, before any JavaScript runs. That is deliberate. If your product is only visible after scripts load, the crawlers that decide whether people find you may see very little.
Why check before you launch
A launch gives you one burst of attention. If the page that burst lands on has no link preview, a vague title or nothing to click, most of it is wasted, and you can't get it back. These problems take minutes to fix and are invisible until someone points them out.
The same fixes help afterwards. Clear titles and descriptions, real text in the HTML and structured data are what earn a product search traffic and a mention when someone asks an AI assistant for a tool like yours. Read more on the Traffiklist blog or see how launches work on Traffiklist.
Questions
It's a quick audit of the things that decide whether a launch works: whether search engines can read your page, whether your link looks good when shared, whether a visitor knows what to do next, and whether AI assistants can understand your product. You paste your URL and get a score out of 100 with a fix for each problem.
